My Story

.As the daughter of an artist, I’ve always been around and involved in art all my life. I trained early on in traditional drawing and painting skills and struggled to master watercolors. Never happy with what I was doing artistically, my art skills were pushed aside for other life pursuits. Choosing the more financially secure route, I obtained my degree in Marketing from Florida State University and followed the corporate path in marketing and sales for 24 years, first with Xerox and then later ending with Pfizer Pharmaceuticals.

I came to my art later in life through a series of life tragedies which made me seriously question the career and life path I was following. I left that path in 2005 and starting pursuing my art, and today I get to live a wonderfully creative life with gratitude and purpose

6 Months out of the year, from November to April you can find me selling my artwork at several art shows throughout Florida.

My Story

Of all the elements of design I am the most passionate about texture, then color. I am constantly searching for ways to bring my images up off the canvas. One of the ways I do this is by incorporating the use of “dried acrylic paint skins”. Acrylic paint skins can come from recycling the paint off my pallet or for larger needs, I mix, pour, and dry my own skins depending on the size and complexity of the project. Once the moisture has evaporated, the resulting skin is a pliable film of paint that allows me infinite possibilities to sculpt onto the canvas. It gives an amazing 3-D look that draws the viewer into the painting.

This extra dimension can be appealing, emphasizing the lushness and physicality of the paint itself.
